Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA), in partnership with Mitch Albom, is pleased to announce the 3rd annual Mitch Albom and Friends fundraising event. The program will benefit students from the Have Faith Haiti Mission and Orphanage attending college at one of the 14 MCA member campuses.

Last summer’s event included a limited number of in person guests as well as a live streaming option allowing for remote viewers to enjoy the show and support student scholarships. Our goal each year is to increase the number of viewers and dollars raised to support these young, well deserving students.

Please mark your calendars for Thursday, August 19, 2021! The 2021 program will be held at the beautiful Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor and will include a live stream option. Additional information including Mitch’s special guests will be coming soon.

Don’t miss this year’s event. Add your name to the list below to receive updates about special guests, tickets, VIP opportunities, and more!

Students
Tonight you’ll meet Manno and Siem. Along with Jhonas, they are studying at Madonna University with help from the Have Faith Haiti Scholarship Fund. It’s their stories and the stories of the kids at the Have Faith Haiti Mission and Orphanage, and their futures, that we’re celebrating tonight.

Mitch has rounded up a few of his entertaining pals to join in the festivities virtually including…

Hank Azaria is an actor, comedian, and producer. He is widely known for his voice work playing several characters in the animated sitcom, The Simpsons. Azaria had live-action appearances in many films including The Birdcage, Godzilla, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and The Smurfs. He has also taken on more dramatic roles, including the TV films, Tuesdays With Morrie. Azaria has won six Emmys and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

J.K. Simmons is a television, film, and voice actor who was born in Detroit. In television, he is known for his work playing Dr. Emil Skoda on the NBC series, Law & Order, Vernon Schillinger on the HBO series Oz, and Assistant Police Chief, Will Pope on TNT’s The Closer. Simmons won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in Whiplash.

Tony Kornheiser is a popular television sports talk show host for ESPN’s, Pardon the Interruption, former sportswriter for the Washington Post, radio and podcast host, and columnist.

This event is guaranteed to make you smile and fill your heart with happiness. The frivolity is all for a great cause as we raise money for the Have Faith Haiti Mission college scholarship fund in partnership with the Michigan Colleges Alliance.

Have Faith Haiti Mission

The goal of the Have Faith Haiti Mission & Orphanage is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for Haitian children who do not have one. Children are cared for medically, nutritionally, educationally, and spiritually. They are taught in both French and English, with the goal of achieving a college or vocational degree.
