Michigan Colleges Alliance Presents
Have Faith Haiti Scholarship Fundraiser
Join Michigan Colleges Alliance and Mitch Albom on Saturday, September 10 for the Michigan premier of Tuesdays with Morrie.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the New York Times #1 bestseller, Tuesdays with Morrie live on stage, is the powerful and moving story of Mitch Albom,
a hard-driving sportswriter, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. This tender yet profound play recounts the two men reuniting as Morrie faces his own mortality as an ALS patient. What starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a beautiful lesson in humanity, compassion, and friendship.
Saturday’s performance has a mission – making a college education accessible for kids from the Have Faith Haiti Mission and Orphanage. The performance will include a special post-show talk with Mitch, the actors, and Have Faith Haiti scholars.
Mitch Albom, an internationally renowned author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and TV broadcaster, and philanthropist, will be live and in person at this event on September 10. He is the author of numerous books, which have collectively sold more than 40 million copies in 47 languages worldwide. He has written seven number-one New York Times bestsellers, award-winning TV films, stage plays, screenplays, a nationally syndicated newspaper column, and a musical.
His latest work is a return to fiction with The Stranger in the Lifeboat (Harper, November 2021). He founded SAY Detroit, a consortium of nine different charitable operations, for Detroit’s most underserved citizens and operates an orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
The Have Faith Haiti Scholarship Fund
You can make a huge difference in sending our Have Faith Haiti Mission students to college.
After the show, you’ll meet Manno and Siem. Along with Jhonas and Edney, they are studying at Madonna University with help from the Have Faith Haiti Scholarship Fund. It’s their stories and the stories of the kids at the Have Faith Haiti Mission and Orphanage, and their futures, that we’re celebrating.
Or give via text message. Just text “HAITIFUND” to 44-321
The goal of the Have Faith Haiti Mission & Orphanage is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for Haitian children who do not have one. Children are cared for medically, nutritionally, educationally, and spiritually. They are taught in both French and English, with the goal of achieving a college or vocational degree.
