Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA) is pleased to announce the third round of its student entrepreneurship scholarship competition – the Independent Innovators Network scholarship.  This program awards scholarships up to $7,500 based on the strength of student applications outlining a business or social entrepreneurship concept.

Shape Corporation Global Leadership Development Program

Faculty from Michigan Colleges Alliance member institutions are working with Shape Corporation to develop a Global Leadership Development Program (G.L.D.P.) to prepare current and future high potential associates for key leadership roles in the global manufacturing company.  Through succession planning and the learning experiences provided through the G.L.D.P.

MCA Roundtable on Talent

Annually, Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA) brings together member college presidents with business and talent acquisition leaders from major Michigan-based employers to explore young talent development and workplace readiness issues. The MCA Roundtable on Talent was launched in June, 2013 and includes an evening dinner reception with a keynote speaker followed the next day by an in-depth discussion among participants. It is held at the beautiful and iconic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

Corporate Concierge Connection Events

MCA's first Corporate Concierge Connection event - a Career Fair at Whirlpool Corporation’s global headquarters in Benton Harbor, Michigan - was held in winter 2010 with great success!  Since then, the program has continued to build momentum as a result of the high quality of participating students and excellent management of the events.  MCA has provided portfolios to and held recruiting events with the following companies:

Talent Assessment Project

Partnering with Michigan Businesses

The Talent Assessment Project is a MCA research initiative designed to create an ongoing dialogue between Michigan's major employers and MCA campuses to identify the qualities and skills employers need in recent college graduates.  The study will be used to better align corporate Michigan talent needs with academic programs on MCA's 14 campuses, ensuring that future graduates are prepared to meet the talent needs of Michigan's businesses and organizations.
